Infant weight gain08/20/2008 02:03PM |
My grandson was 7`10" at birth and at 7 months weighs 24`. He is off the growth chart Should we be concerned? How many calories should a 7 month old be eating? thanks
Any concern should not be based upon weight alone. It is a matter of length and weight, being proportional. Infants often have a dip in their weight as they began to crawl, cruise, and walk (usually between 8 and 14 months). Your grandson may be preparing for this phase. Caloric intake also has many variables, I would hesitate to make a statement not knowing other factors.
