Sand inhalation?08/18/2008 11:10PM |
Hello - my daughter was on the beach today and I noticed her to eat some sand...she is 10 months old...I have noticed her to cotinously cough tonight...and appears to sound nasal like when you have a chest cold...do you think that is due to the sand and should I be concerned?
It is unlikely to be due to the sand; most likely the cause is a cold. Toddlers get their hands and then mouths on everything! If her fever exceeds 102.5 degrees F, she refuses fluids and doesn't urinate in a 6-8 hours period, or is inconsolable, it would be wise to contact your pediatric health care professional.
