Bleeding and Clotting Disorders |
Superficial vein thrombosis08/11/2008 12:39AM |
I had a left basilar vein clot. There was no involvement of the axillary vein. Is it possible to have a DVT in a superficial vein? Is it possible that I had a superficial vein thrombosis?
It is possible to have a blood clot in a superficial vein, which is what it sounds like you have. Usually this happens after a blood draw or an IV. No treatment other than warm compresses is usually needed.
