Asperger Syndrome in the Elderly06/10/2008 03:52PM |
Does the Asperger syndrome become more pronounced with aging, and have the symptoms been mistaken for Alzheimer`s disease? In our drug oriented and proactive society, a doctor may test a patient who begins to need help at home because of aging. Finding "dementia," the doctor typically presecribes the most currently promising medication for Alzheimer`s disease. Would Namenda or the Excelon patch be at all helpful to an elderly person with Asperger syndrome?
Thank you for your inquiry regarding Asperger's and the elderly. Unfortunately, we are a pediatric website and therefore are unable to answer your question.
