Bulimia research question about teeth

05/04/2008 09:18PM

Question:

How does bulimia affect teeth? Do your teeth fall out? How do dentists treat the problems?

Answer:

Bulimia nervosa can impact one's teeth if a person experiences purging by self-induced vomiting. This can significantly erode the enamel of one's teeth, causing teeth to decay and erode away, requiring significant dental work to recap the teeth.
