One of the premier cardiovascular programs in the country, the OSU Division of Cardiovascular Medicine offers comprehensive individualized care using the latest advanced technology to ensure the best patient outcomes. As a national and local leader in heart research, prevention, diagnosis and treatment, the Division has pioneered the development of many cardiovascular procedures used today. Through their deep involvement with advancing research, faculty members have made great advances in patient care.
The Cardiovascular Clinical Research Unit (CCRU) is the dedicated clinical and translational research group for the Division. Studies span a number of research areas, including: heart failure, transplant/ cardiothoracic surgery, interventional cardiology, electrophysiology, imaging, genotyping, prevention, sleep disorders, emergency room medicine, and pulmonary hypertension.
The CCRU, in partnership with patients, health care professionals, and researchers, provides national leadership in clinical trials investigating cardiovascular drug and device therapies. By linking the Ross Heart Hospital and Davis Heart and Lung Research Institute, the CCRU provides an opportunity for clinical researchers and basic scientists to collaboratively improve patient care and outcomes. This mutual effort has aided the identification of individual patient needs and subsequent advancement of personalized health care.
