Did you know that the cancer death rate among African Americans is 30% higher than their white counterparts? This is only one of the many health disparities between minorities and whites.
In response to the increased number of health disparities, April was designated as Minority Health Month in 2001. This month is dedicated to creating awareness of the health gap that minority groups face in the United States.
